Opportunity types & technical requirements
Internship — Remote
- Duration: 3–6 months · Commitment: 20–40 hours/week.
- Time zone: minimum 4 hours daily overlap with Indonesia time (GMT+8).
- Equipment: own laptop (8 GB RAM recommended), stable internet ≥ 10 Mbps, headset for calls.
- Tools we use: email, spreadsheets (Google Workspace), WhatsApp Business for trade coordination, shared task boards — training provided.
- Languages: working English (B2 or better); a second site language (German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, Chinese) is a strong plus.
Internship — In-house (Bali, Denpasar)
- Duration: 3–6 months · on-site, Monday–Friday, with occasional site inspections and supplier visits.
- Visa & travel: you arrange your own visa, travel and accommodation — we provide an invitation letter and practical guidance.
- Insurance: valid health/travel insurance for the full stay is mandatory.
- Exposure: guest operations, 24/7 trade-desk shifts (rotational), hotel inspections and partner meetings.
Early-career & experienced roles
Full-time openings in operations, contracting and the trade desk are posted periodically. Speculative applications are kept on file for 12 months.
Open internship tracks — specifications
1. Travel Operations & Itinerary Design (Remote or In-house)
You will: build multi-island itineraries, coordinate transfers, hotels and activities, and prepare operational documents for agent bookings.
Requirements: strong attention to detail; confident spreadsheets; English B2+; tourism/hospitality studies preferred.
You'll learn: DMC operations end to end — from RFQ to on-ground delivery.
2. B2B Sales & Trade Desk (Remote or In-house)
You will: support RFQ handling, quotation preparation, agency follow-ups and CRM hygiene.
Requirements: confident written communication; numeracy for net-rate/markup logic; a second market language is a strong plus.
You'll learn: how net-rate B2B travel distribution works, from enquiry to confirmed group.
3. Content & Digital Marketing (Remote)
You will: write for the multilingual trade blog and destination guides, support SEO/AEO work and social channels.
Requirements: portfolio or writing samples; native-level command of one site language; basic SEO literacy welcome.
You'll learn: multilingual SEO, answer-engine and generative-engine optimisation for a real travel brand.
4. Reservations & Hotel Contracting (Remote or In-house)
You will: assist with hotel and villa contracting, allotments, and reservation workflows across Indonesia.
Requirements: organised and process-driven; comfortable with spreadsheets and supplier email threads.
You'll learn: rate loading, allotment management and contracting etiquette with premium properties.
5. Finance & Back Office (Remote)
You will: support invoicing, multi-currency reconciliation and reporting with the accounts team.
Requirements: studying finance, accounting or business administration; spreadsheet fluency; discretion with financial data.
You'll learn: multi-currency settlement flows across 14 receiving accounts and B2B invoicing practice.
General eligibility
- 18 years or older; student, recent graduate or career-switcher into travel.
- Genuine interest in travel, tourism and Indonesia.
- Reliability and ownership — interns get real tasks, not busywork.

Are Explera internships paid?
Terms (stipend, allowances) depend on the track, duration and format and are confirmed individually at offer stage. Every completed internship includes a certificate and reference letter.
Can I do the internship fully remotely?
Yes — Operations, Trade Desk, Content, Reservations and Finance tracks all accept remote interns with at least 4 hours of daily overlap with GMT+8.
Do you sponsor visas for the Bali internship?
No — in-house interns arrange their own visa and insurance. We provide an invitation letter and step-by-step guidance on the appropriate visa type.
How long does the selection process take?
Typically 2–3 weeks from application to offer: screening within 10 business days, one interview, one short task.
When can I start?
Intakes are rolling — we accept applications year-round and agree the start date at offer stage.
